Some changes are coming next week for the Great America shuttles:
Official VTA shuttle bus information.
1. the Baypointe line will be split into two routes: Brown and Tan
* the Brown shuttle will serve transfers for light rail
(at which station ? I presume Baypointe, but VTA published
'Tasman Light Rail Station'). The Brown shuttle will continue
on to the River Oaks area of northern San Jose, serving
Altera, Sony and Cadence.
* the Tan shuttle will mostly follow the old Baypointe route, except
it adds service to Rio Robles to serve to KLA-Tencor and Cisco.
2. the Purple shuttle will be split into two routes: Purple and Violet
* the Purple shuttle will follow the first half of the old Purple route,
then continue to Alder Drive and north of McCarthy Ranch, serving new
Cisco buildings in Milpitas.
* the Violet shuttle will cover the second half of the old Purple route,
including McCarthy Blvd, Montague Expressway, and Milpitas Blvd
in Milpitas.
3. the Yellow shuttle will be split into two routes: Yellow and Gold
* the Yellow shuttle will follow most of the old Yellow route.
* the Gold shuttle will cover the part of the old Yellow route which
was dropped by the new Yellow, and then continue in southern
Santa Clara to serve Applied Materials, Cisco, Align Technology,
Lockheed Martin and United Defense.
4. The Red shuttle will be re-rerouted.
* the Red shuttle will be re-rerouted within the Lockheed Martin campus
to speed up transfers to other services.
